Texas A&M University School of Law Legal Clinics

Texas A&M Legal Clinic students represent entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and small businesses in the areas of entrepreneurship, nonprofits, trademark and copyright. Our students are capable of helping with a variety of tasks, from forming business, social enterprise, and nonprofit entities to drafting contracts and corporate governance documents to counseling on trademark issues.

About

Under the supervision of practicing attorneys, our students offer free legal services to small businesses, non-profits, and micro-entrepreneurs. All legal services are provided free of charge to modest-income individuals and entities. Some of the services we provide include:

  • Entity Selection & Formation
  • Contract Negotiation & Drafting
  • Preparing and Filing Trademark Applications
  • Preparing and Filing Copyright Applications
  • Independent Contractor Agreements
  • Corporate Governance Guidance

You can view all services offered, learn more about our income guidelines, and submit an online Request for Services on our website, located at https://law.tamu.edu/legal-assistance

Once you request services, a law student will contact you to schedule a telephone interview where the student will gather information to help determine whether we can take you on as a client. Please note that the clinic will only begin representation you and a clinic attorney sign an engagement letter establishing the relationship and defining the scope of representation.

Please also note that we do not accept requests for services on a walk-in basis or by phone.
