About

The University of Texas at Arlington Research Institute (UTARI) is focused on applied research for the development of novel, affordable solutions to complex technical problems. Our mission is to drive local and regional technology-based economic development by applying science and engineering knowledge to areas such as manufacturing automation, intelligent controls and sensors, robotics, unmanned systems, assistive technologies, biomedical technologies, and composites and advanced materials. UTARI achieves its’ mission by cultivating productive relationships with industry partners, primarily in Texas, to address real-world problems.

These partnerships take multiple forms, including teaming on grant proposals, sponsoring research/services, and receiving research gifts. Such collaborations are an absolute necessity in advancing technology to meet the needs of end-users. UTARI’s dedication to partnering with industry collaborators comes with the dedication it takes to work within the constraints and requirements of customers’ needs. The push for commercialization has driven UTARI to foster strong, multi-establishment partnerships that combine skill sets to not only generate funding, but also execute on delivery of final products. Our scientists and engineers understand what schedule, budget, and quality deliverables mean. UTARI exists to turn technical ideas into product realities from insight to innovation.
